Adult Aerial Arts Workout

Take your fitness regimen to a new level by practicing the aerial arts of fabric and static trapeze. Carefully guided and spotted exercises will build strength, flexibility, core power, endurance, and muscular definition. The goal of this class is the work-out itself, so routines are customized to fit the physicality and capabilities of each person. Students of all ability and experience levels from completely new to advanced are welcome. Ages 16 and up (younger with instructor approval.)

Adult Aerial Yoga

Wednesdays5:45 to 6:45 PM

Aerial yoga adapts an aerial sling into a traditional asana practice. The aerial sling is used to assist and modify postures to make them more accessible, to deepen the postures, and to add an extra dimension to balance out an asana practice. The sling provides the yogi an opportunity to experience inversions with relative ease, facilitating decompression in the spine. Aerial yoga strengthens the upper body including the wrists and forearms, which can reduce the chance of injury in a ground practice. It strengthens the core, which aids stability and balance, and it cultivates a sense of freedom and fun!

Students of all ability and experience levels from completely new to advanced are welcome. Cost is $21 for an individual class or $17/class if you purchase a pack of 8 to be used in 16 weeks. (Class credits may be used for aerial yoga as well as the other aerial workout classes.) There is also a 10% discount for a second student purchasing an 8-pack of classes in the same household. Ages 16 and up (younger with instructor approval.)

Contraindications: You don't need to be a gymnast (or a yogi) to enjoy an aerial yoga class, however there are certain medical conditions that may be affected by inverting. Do not invert if you have high blood pressure, hypertension, eye/inner-ear/spine/heart conditions, glaucoma, or any other condition as directed by your health care professional. If you are not sure, ask your doctor!
